If we choose to do The Aragonese Way, we will find this town in the second stage of our journey, 72 km away from Huesca.Located next to the National Park of Ordesa and Monte Perdido, Jaca gets its name for being the Capital of the region of Jacetania, Jaca.
This route was the first city on the Camino, as well as the capital of the Kingdom of Aragon and the headquarters of the Aragonese bishops. Once you are there you must seethe Jaca Citadel, a beautiful fortification that served as protection against invasions during the time of Felipe II and declared a National Monument, one of the most valuable monuments in the area.
